Murphy NC-Great Smokey Mountain National Park celebrating it's 75th Anniversary this year!!!  One of our most valuable local treasures is undoubtedly the Great Smokey Mountain National Park and the sanctuary it provides for both our local botanicals as well as wildlife.  What most people don't realize, is that the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, is the only National Park in our country that is absolutely free to Park Visitors.  It was a requirement that the previous owners of the land now encompassing the Park made before it was donated to the Park system,--that there NEVER be a fee required for those to enjoy what our mountains had to offer- In this economy, all of us are looking for great places to travel and visit that won't cost us a fortune to bring our families to--- So let me encourage you to head to the mountains and visit the Great Smokies  PLEASE NOTE- All donations are readily accepted however!!  I have a special affinity for the "Park" since my ancestors helped settle the now famous Cades Cove area of the Park and their original home is still part of the Cades Cove tour.
